Löwenbräu

The site of the former Löwenbräu brewery on the Limmatstrasse, Zürich, Switzerland was rebuilt, partly broken away and supplemented with new buildings.

The new and existing buildings form two courtyards (Brauereihof and Kunsthof). The new constructions include several buildings. On the west side of the area is the construction West, a fairfaced concrete building, in which galleries can accommodate. The building of “Erschliessung Kunst” (opening art) is between the new West and the existing building. The high-rise “Mitte Annex” (middle annex) is about 70 m high and consists of a ground floor and 20 upper floors. It is used as a residential building. From the eight floor on the high-rise juts out approx 9 m over the existing brewery main building. The construction East is an office building on the east side of the site. The existing brick buildings were partially rebuilt and repaired. This project asked for competences in construction engineering of our partner Dr. Lüchinger + Meyer Bauingenieure AG.
